· Game day t-shirts can be purchased for $5 in the Activities Office.
· Missouri Western is offering an ACT prep class to prepare for the October ACT test. Classes will be held on Saturdays, starting Sept 18th. See your counselor for more information.
· If you feel like you might need help with one or more of your classes, then Academic Recovery Tutoring can help! This will be held every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in Room 52 from 2:40-3:40. There is no sign up to attend—all you need to do is go if you need tutoring! If you have questions, please see Ms. Stottlemyre or your Counselor!
· Any students who have log sheets from summer school to turn in for A+, please turn these into your counselor in as soon as possible.
· Students driving to school need to purchase a parking pass. If you park without a pass, you will be issued a warning. You will not be allowed to park on campus until a parking pass is purchased and displayed. Failure to do so could result in your vehicle being towed. No parking is allowed across the street in Barbee Church. Your vehicle is subject to be towed without warning.
· Seniors and juniors that need community service hours, Excelsior Springs Friends of Animals is having their annual dog retreat at the Elms on Saturday, Sept 11th. It runs from 9-4 and has two sifts. If you’re interested in volunteering, see Ms. Burrell in Room 37 for information.
· Attention Seniors-there is a free college match program hosted by Questbridge for high achieving seniors who have faced economic hardships. If you would like to learn more about this program to see if you might qualify, please visit www.questbridge.org. This program offers numerous scholarships that you can apply for as well! You must apply by Sept 30th, so do this as soon as possible!
· This Friday is our first home football game—there will be an Overtime Dance in the commons following the game for ESHS students. The Overtime Dance is from 9:00-11:00pm. The cost is $2.00 and you must have your student ID with you to enter. There will be pizza, drinks, open gym, and a DJ.
· The Homecoming Dance is October 9th. If you are planning on bringing a guest who does not attend ESHS please see the Dance Guidelines in your planner on page 45. You can register your guest with Mrs. Miles in the Principal’s Office during lunch or after school and get a permission form that must be completed and returned to Mrs. Miles. We will only accept forms turned in by Oct 1st.
· Freshmen-STUCO elections will be during lunch on Friday. Be sure and vote!
· Senior Natural Helpers will meet Friday at 7:05 am in the Guidance Office.
· Auditions for the musical Little Shop of Horrors is September 7 & 8. Sign up for a singing audition outside the choir room. Auditions begin at 2:45 and end at 5:30 both days. All students grades 9-12 are welcome to audition.
· College and Career Fair will be here at ESHS on Sept 20th from 6:30-8:00 pm. All students are welcome to attend. Please see your counselor for more information.
